I guess you werent on of the ones effected by the Sony's own firmware bricking PS3's a few months back. I personally don't think this generations systems were built for hardcore gaming.

Then I'll probably get it back in May. Also, the PS3 is got crappy compared to the 360. Its library isn't that great. Cross platform games usually perform better on the 360. Was not impressed. Hated the controls and combat Uncharted 2: Haven't played Heavy Rain: Not even out yet. Can't list that. Plus its quick time events which I can't stand. I didn't even finish indigo prophecy cause of it Little Big Planet: Its........ alright. I mean, I had fun playing with my friends. But they managed to ruin that. And communicating online with strangers is difficult since its all typing Killzone 2 - Never played it. Never cared Resistance 1 - Seriously, this game kinda blew. The story was alright, but I played it with a friend and we breezed through it. We had more fun with Gears of War Resistance 2 - Didn't care enough to play it Infamous - Never played it. Upcoming Twisted Metal title - Don't care for twisted metal PS1 games on PSN - PSN has a nice selection, but not a must buy feature.

Firstly, its library isn't that great because developers can't be bothered working with the system. It far more capable than the 360, but that makes it a whole lot more complicated to work with. The reason cross-platform games are usually more comfortable on the 360 is because, when developers are making a cross-platform title, they must constantly make sure the inferior technology of the 360 can handle it and thus the PS3 version suffers. Naturally, it'll work better on the less powerful console when it's been intentionally made to work on it without any problems. As for the controllers - I much prefer the Playstation one. I tried playing Resi 5 on the 360 a while back and the chunky funky controller confused the shit outta' me. It doesn't feel nearly as natural as a dualshock. It's online isn't great. But it's free. Unlike 360 which quickly becomes more expensive than PS3 in the long run. Lastly, the PS3 offers a whole lot of cool shit that the 360 doesn't, it uses Blu Ray which allows discs to carrry a lot more info than those of the 360 family and it's generally just.. well better. Don't get me wrong, I'll be getting a 360 in the future. It's an alright console. It's just not in the same league as Playstation.

My friend let me borrow his PS3 after my Xbox broke, and I've been having fun with it. Granted I haven't played any games I wouldn't normally play on the Xbox, I just don't have the money to be buying him games. Personally I like my Xbox more, but you can't the deny that the PS3 is a brick shithouse.

It was even an issue that was brought up by the developers. And other than the L2and R2 buttons being triggers, the PS3 controller is the same as the PS1and 2 duel shock. The PS3 has a rep for being a tough system to code on. I think that this has changed over the years as we are finally seeing more PS3 exclusives a rise. And it finally seems like Sony's Marketing team has got off their asses. I do believe it will be a good year for the ps3. WHile both systems are powerful neither system looks more impressive than the other.
